Poems inspired by the words of Rumi

Collection in Progress by Michal Mahgerefteh

Updated November 2022

Poets are not obligated to explain their words

because they often don't understand

them themselves; the source resides within

the psyche of the writer, and it's up to

the reader to interpret the meaning.

The Usher

A voice peering through unfathomable dreams,

brings forth useless battles and blades of error;

I’m a slave to lingering emotions, a bride on embers

of old sufferings, an infinite mourner hidden beneath

things I do not know, a devotee without an echo….

kiss my agape lips, you who guards the upper ladder.

Rocks that beat upon the crest of life failed

to serve me. Ultimately, I gained strength

amid endless loss; darkness did not break at sunrise.

I create and live in an alternate reality;

my heart indulges vast scenarios as I

"Dream On!" Each moment a song. La!
