Efflorescence: A Flourishing Representation of Botanical Renewal and Growth

Michal (Mitak) Mahgerefteh is an artist and poet originally from Israel, living in Virginia since 1986. Her collage mix-media artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries and art centers across the US and abroad and published on the front covers of several magazines and books. Her latest abstract art series (2022-) draws inspiration from her visits to botanical gardens and hiking trips, resulting in vividly abstract depictions of nature. She utilizes a unique process involving custom paint formulas and various tools to create each one-of-a-kind piece, which features a distinct fusion of colors, shapes, and textures.
